My Favorite Way To Start A Conversation With Email Marketing

Have you ever started a conversation with your leads or prospective customers through email marketing? It sounds crazy—normally you wouldn't think people would hit reply to a marketing email—but it really is possible!
That's exactly why I have a favorite marketing email that I love to send out. I'm always amazed at the amount of responses I get from people. Here's what it says.

I have an opinion about everything.
Apart from having an opinion on everything, I like to talk about everything. So, if I can get a conversation going with you, I love it. I'm happy, and at some point, I might find out there's something we can do to help you. Even if not, hey, we've had a great conversation. What could be better than that?
Well, this whole thing ties in to what is my favorite email to send when someone downloads something or someone interacts with something on my site. I have an automated email that goes out, and it uses this idea: it simply says, "So, what did you think? Give me your feedback."
You would be surprised at the number of people that just hit reply to that email and tell me what they think. They tell me what pieces they like, what pieces they didn't like... maybe questions they have on their mind. And then it gives me a chance to ask other questions—to find out the answers to, "Hey, what's really going on in your business? What are you guys trying to accomplish over there?"
It simply allows me start a conversation.
